Students Like Social Media

I am a big fan of infographics – and this one is right up my alley.

The graphic shows some pretty great statistics regarding social media and its prevalence in education and students’ lives.

  • Over 60% of students want to access their textbook online – and be able to communicate with other students via that same platform.
  • At schools where mobile devices are banned, 67% of students use them anyway.
  • 43% of teens claim that social media is their primary means of communication with others online.

There are other great stats listed in the graphic, so be sure to read through them. What do you think? How does this change your opinion on students bringing devices to school and being allowed to use them?
